2. Nature of the site
This site is the public-facing presence of Smokey Hill Retrievers, a family-run kennel breeding hunt-tested, health-cleared Labrador and Golden Retrievers on an 80-acre farm in central Kansas. It exists to introduce the kennel, share what's coming up, answer common questions, and let prospective puppy families reach out.
3. Intellectual property
All content on this site — text, design, code, photographs of our dogs and farm — is owned by Smokey Hill Retrievers unless explicitly credited otherwise. Don't copy, redistribute, or republish without written permission.
Photographs submitted by puppy families are used with permission and remain the property of their respective owners.
4. Inquiries and reservations
Submitting the contact form (or emailing [email protected]) is how you start a conversation — it is not a contract and does not reserve a puppy. A reservation only exists once we've completed the application and interview, you've placed a deposit on a specific upcoming litter, and both sides have signed the puppy agreement covering health guarantee, return-to-breeder terms, and pickup details.
5. Information you submit
When you submit an inquiry, the information you provide (name, email, location, household details, message) is used only to respond to you and discuss whether one of our pups is a good fit. See the Privacy Policy for details on storage and handling.
6. No warranties on site content
The site is provided "as is." We aim for accuracy on litter availability and pricing, but make no warranty that everything is up to date, error-free, or continuously available. Final terms for any reservation are set in the signed puppy agreement, not on this site.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smokey Hill Retrievers is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, and nothing here overrides the health guarantee or other terms in a signed puppy agreement.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated occasionally. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas and the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in a venue appropriate to the principal place of business in central Kansas.
