Bear is the kind of black Lab everybody wishes they had. Five years old, OFA Excellent on hips, hunt-tested at Cheyenne Bottoms across four seasons, and the calmest off-switch in the program. He marks like a machine, settles like he was raised in a library, and throws those traits into every litter we've put on the ground from him.
We bred Bear's litter ourselves and kept him because he was the pup who walked into a kennel of strangers and lay down. That kind of temperament is what we look for first, and the rest — hips, drive, birdiness — has to back it up. Bear's full panel did.
What Bear brings to the program:
Bear has sired five litters with us across the last three years — Lab pups from Bear are placed with hunting families from Maine to Montana, and the feedback is consistent: calm in the home, birdy in the field, and steady from the start.
Tell us a little about your family or your hunting and we'll talk through the fit. Replies usually within a day or two — Tom, Maggie, or Sarah, never an auto-responder.
